Zoran Dukic (1969, Zagreb) was presented with a guitar at the early age of six. Today he is one of the most distinguished classical guitarists of our time. His concert performances, both as a soloist or with an orchestra, leave long-lasting impressions on audiences and critics alike.
He graduated from the Music Academy of Zagreb with Darko Petrinjak and completed his studies with Hubert Käppel at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne.
In his "tour de force" competition years (1990-1997) Zoran Dukic has won an astonishing number of competitions, more than any other guitarist in the world. He is the only guitarist to have won both "Andrés Segovia" competitions, in Granada and in Palma de Mallorca. Showing astounding mastery in a wide variety of musical periods and styles he has also won competitions dedicated to "Fernando Sor", "Manuel Ponce", "Manuel de Falla", "Francisco Tárrega" among others. In the greatest Spanish guitar competition in Madrid, patronized by the Royal Family, he was awarded, in addition to the first prize, the special prize for the best interpretation of Spanish music (first time awarded to a non-Spaniard). In numerous competitions he was selected by the audience itself for the prize of the public, a self-evident testimony to his natural ability to communicate through music.
His performances throughout the 5 continents have inspired numerous composers to dedicate their works to him. His premiers of new music are strengthened by his admiration of contemporary musical expression. His programs include works by Takemitsu, Henze, Reily, Carter or Gubaidulina among many others. He has also toured with entire Bach programs, performing complete cycles of lute, violin or cello suites. Music by J. S. Bach is still the focal point of his musical life.
He also has a special affinity for Spanish and South American musical idiom, the core repertoire of classical guitar. Currently, his carefully balanced programs present a range of music from Bach to Britten, from Sor to Albéniz, from Tárrega to Villa-Lobos and Brouwer.
Being exceptionally enthusiastic and dedicated to teaching, his pedagogical activities are equally impressive. Having taught at the Zagreb Music Academy and Hochschule Für Musik in Aachen, he is currently teaching at the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague and at the Escuela Superior de Musica in Barcelona, he has educated generations of young classical guitarists and has one of the most successful classes in Europe. In addition to this, he regularly gives masterclasses all over the world and is often an invited guest to numerous guitar festivals. Zoran Dukic is also a very active chamber music performer and a founding member of the “Trio de Cologne”. He has recorded compact discs for labels in Germany, Spain, Belgium and Canada.
Elected in 2003 best Italian guitarist of the year by the readers of the magazine Guitart, both the critics as recognized figures of the music world appreciate in Paolo Pegoraro an uncommon depth and artistic sensibility. Winner of prestigious competitions, he performs regularly at major festivals throughout Europe, USA, South America, Africa and Asia. In 2001, in an interview in one of the most important specialized magazines, David Russell cited him as one of the best young concertists of the present time. It is often invited to be part of juries for musical and guitar competitions, both in Italy and abroad.
He is creator and artistic director of the International Guitar Festival “Friuli Venezia Giulia” held in Pordenone for 14 years. Paolo Pegoraro also loves to teach and so much founded the Guitar Center “Tárrega”, a school established and recognized internationally, which has students from various countries around the world. Many students develop himself at his school, play assiduous concerts, winning over the years more than 80 awards at major national and international competitions.
He has several recordings and the CD “Solo” has received enthusiastic reviews; in particular, the German magazine “Gitarre & Laute” declared “... the discovery of the year”. Born in Bassano del Grappa August 9, 1968, he began to study music at a very early age, quickly demonstrating a distinct talent and receiving from his family an environment rich in musical stimuli. He graduated with highest honors from the Conservatory “Benedetto Marcello” in Venice in the class of Tommaso de Nardis. He consecutively frequented master classes of Manuel Barrueco and David Russell, as well as receiving the Merit Diploma at the Chigiana Academy of Siena in Oscar Ghiglia's Class.
... Paolo plays the notes as a series of pearls, clear one after another and now is the extraordinary thing: he has pearls of all sizes and all shades of color, he puts together in a way that will produce a effect of strong compactness and harmony. Paolo follows his musical ideas without compromise: accelerating, and evaporates the sentence where it is necessary for reasons of musical logic and not because of technical problems. This is an extraordinary thing in the guitar world. Paolo Pegoraro is, I can only repeat once more, the discovery of the year!

REVIEWS:
Duo Guitarinet- 10th Anniversary Album - JBRecords 003-2
Throughout this rewarding disc you are aware of the musicianship of the two players. In terms of tone and expressional variety, with impeccable rhytm and balance, I can’t imagine it done better. I have known and admired Pełech’s work for some 20 years; Bokun was the revelation. I can’t remember the last time the clarinet made such an impression. I would say that he has the ability to become a soloist of the highest quality, but he can be persuaded to stay with the talented Krzysztof Pełęch, not only will the guitar world be enriched but a genuine contribution will be made to music as a whole. (Colin Cooper, Classical Guitar)
Impresiones Argentinas - JBRecords 004-2
This release is a showcase of the formidable talents of Krzysztof Pelech and Jan Jakub Bokun, and is evidence of Bokun's burgeoning conducting career. The Camerata Moravia is first-rate throughout. The recorded sound is close up and well balanced, and does not suffer from the all-to-common excessive post-production reverberation in the strings. The disc has plenty of rhythmic punch...(Bill Nichols, The Clarinet)
Duo Guitarinet - Dux 163
...Jan Jakub Bokun and Krzysztof Pełech are performing their music as though they were native to the picturesque streets of Buenos Aires vibrating with tango. Overwhelming is the subtle, yet richly dynamic, ‘sparkling’ articulation of Pełech’s guitar and the extraordinarily warm clarinet part played by Bokun. The musicians are playing in a seamless union, breathing like one body… (Małgorzata Gmys, Ruch Muzyczny)
...The latest Pełech and Bokun CD is a sensational feat of instrumental perfection. If you don’t listen to it you’ll miss a lot, but if you give a go, it will become your prized possession. In my opinion it is one of the most fascinating CDs released in our country in the last years. (Jerzy Skupin, Gazeta Muzyczna)
…Rubatos – perfect, phrasing – subtle and clear. A superb quality of Pełech and Bokun’s playing is their ability to create the mood. Technically difficult parts do not impress with a mere virtuosity, but rather meet the ideal of natural expression. The resulting feeling of calm has nothing to do with dullness, though. The musicians stimulate the listeners’ attention with the beauty of delicate phrasing based on unforced Latino, syncopated rhythms. In my judgment the new Pełech and Bokun CD will be a hit of the musical market not only because of its unusual combination of instruments, but also due to its supreme performance quality and most interesting musical contents… (Zbigniew Dubiella, Świat Gitary)
…The Duo Guitarinet’s CD may undoubtedly be hailed as one of the best ones in the year 2000. Instrumentally the performance is flawless. Perfectly articulated phrasing and the consistent rubato are of rare beauty. Personally I’ve been charmed by the dark tone colour of the clarinet as set off against the lighter, subtle guitar accompaniment… (Magda Igras, HI-END.pl)
…One of the best CDs of the year. (Artur Bielecki, Gazeta Wyborcza)
…A leading Polish clarinetist and a leading Polish guitarist collaborate to make this record of high musical value. The fluent and expressive clarinet playing of Jan Jakub Bokun together with the seasoned expertise of Krzysztof Pełech combine perfectly. Piazzolla’s extraordinarily popular work has never sounded so melifluous. The duo’s control of rubato and tone colour in Café 1930 is brilliant, and Bokun’s phrasing, silky and mysterious at the same time, makes Nightclub 1960 ravishing… (Colin Cooper, Classical Guitar Magazine)
…Both performers prove to be first-rate musicians…The sound quality and balance are excellent, the interpretations are imaginative and inspiring, and the sound engineering is flawless…It’s a keeper. (Michele Gingras, The Clarinet)
Complimenti! (Guitart)

The seminar Jan Antonín Losy z Losinthalu – the Count of the baroque guitar? is devoted to the life and work of Jan Antonín Losy, one of the most significant European lute players of the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. The main topic of the seminar will be his compositions for the baroque guitar which are not rarely considered to be only transcriptions of the lute pieces. Is this hypothesis valid? Is it impossible that Losy was an active guitarist and, therefore, his compositions were primarily composed for guitar? What instrument might he have played and what guitar techniques might he have used? When seeking the answers to these questions the extracts of the Losy’s compositions for baroque guitar, baroque lute and gallizona will be played, all of these instruments coming from luthier Jiří Čepelák.
